I have always been interested in property, watching Grand Designs growing up and seeing the transformation from rundown properties to master pieces. When I brought my first home it was the house that needed work and I did the same for the current house we are living in. I am doing the upgrade to this house myself so taking longer than the professionals but it is definitely a learning opportunity!

I started looking at investing in property about a year ago when a plot of land local to me came up for sale. The idea was to purchase it and build a home for my children and I. I was out bid and couldn’t move fast enough to secure the deal.

This got me thinking: how do people do this? I started my research to find out how people secure deals so next time I am in position to be able to secure the purchase.

That one mind-set shift led me to learning all the different ways you can get involved in property from deal sourcing to commercial and becoming a professional property investor. I am still educating myself while analysing deals. I source and structure high-potential UK property opportunities while focusing on value-added refurbishment and strong exit strategies.

My approach is simply identify undervalued properties, add value through smart design and repositioning with investor-first security deals. Currently focusing on dual-exit strategies.
The chance to get involved in the Progressive Property Network was an exciting opportunity to bring together people who are just starting out to people that have been doing it for years. Being at the training events confirmed that you can not do property alone and need a good network. This is the mission for Colchester PPN to create a safe space where no matter where you are in your journey you have people that can support you.

Outside of work I have enjoyed spending time with my children, swimming, tennis and just hanging out. My kids come on viewings with me, so they are learning a new way to create wealth rather than just the normal 9-5! I think the most exciting thing about the property is that my kids can learn it with me and can start earning even though they are still at school.
