Michelle Walker Smith

Michelle Walker Smith has always been a people person and believes that everyone can take control of their happiness.

After completing her business degree at 24, she secured a position within Housing and Property Management and remained in this industry for over 25 years.

Having owned a portfolio for a number of years with her husband Peter, in 2015, Michelle set up the award-winning Aqua Lettings Ltd on her dining room table, which now manages 150 properties and has an outstanding reputation in the North East.

Michelle always gives back wherever possible and enjoys being a successful Property Mentor, helping others who wish to get started in the property industry.

Michelle helps to guide and advise wherever she can.

Peter and Michelle now own 17 properties.
They also have 14 properties that they run through Lease Options, and have started doing Rent to Rent SAs.

Michelle is also an award-winning author and business owner, She personally won the Fabulous Friend Award Issued by NE Youth on International Women’s Day Awards March 2021, reached the National Business Women’s Awards in the Best New Business category and Business Woman of the Year Micro (Less than £1 Million turnover) and Northern England Business Woman of the Year 2022. She won the Best Implementor Award in 2022 through EBA.

She was nominated for Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2022, and was a finalist for Author of the Year 2022. In Association with her Company, Aqua Lettings, Michelle was awarded Winner of Property Management Services 2021/2022 and received the Silver Employment Recognition Award Issued by the Armed Forces Covenant, May 2022.

Michelle is so proud to have been asked in 2023 to be an Ambassador for the National Charity CEO Sleepout because of her plight to reduce homelessness. She also has appeared in numerous radio shows and the press.

In 2022, Michelle was asked to help raise the profile of a local independent networking group called Property Investors North East (PINE). After COVID the numbers had dropped dramatically. Through hard work, grit and determination the numbers have now increased to there being around 50 attendees every month. Michelle now co-hosts the event with Peter and another business partner.

Michelle continues to invest heavily in her own personal development journey by being a member of several high level Mastermind groups.

In her talk, Michelle will be sharing with you her personal journey of ups and downs around having a family and how the traumas have given her the mindset to deal with anything the property world throws at her. She will be sharing techniques used to reduce 6 figures of debt, how to scale a business, and how to build resilience in the current climate.
