Staying COVID-19 secure in 2020
Introducing: Paul Duval
Hi, I’m Paul Duval and I left my long standing career as a Senior Project Manager in IT, Networks and Telecommunications in 2019 to focus on my property businesses. Having project managed multi-million £ projects with global teams in Blue Chip companies and Government agencies as a contractor, I had started to invest in buy-to-let property in 2013, but discovered the full potential of the many different streams of property income in 2017-2019 through Progressive Property’s MSOPI weekend and then by making considerable investment in myself through courses and VIP mentorship with Progressive and others during that period.
Since 2017, I started Clifton Valley Property Limited to invest in, buy, refurbish and hold property (BTLs, HMOs and SAs) and created Cliftonvalley Apartments in partnership with my son, Matt, to invest in Rent to Serviced Accommodation and provide training services, consultancy on SA systems integration and mentorship in SA. Cliftonvalley Apartments soon grew and Matt and I created Cliftonvalley Management to set-up and manage serviced apartments and holiday lets hands-free for other landlords and investors. We now manage 25 SA units ranging from 1 bed to 4 bed apartments and houses, located in Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Swindon, Maidenhead, Evesham and Taunton. Our focus is Bristol, but our Management Portfolio has grown through recommendation and through my networking and Progressive Academy/VIP contacts, hence the other areas covered. We specialise in corporate short-term accommodation to keep our units busy. I am now using income generated from our management services and Rent to SA companies to meet all outgoings and am focussing on acquisition of redevelopment projects for SA, HMO and BTL to build the Cliftonvalley owned portfolio, as well as further streamlining and outsourcing my SA businesses with Matt. My current projects are a refurb to refinance and SA in South Wales, along with a refurb and conversion to a 4 bed Mini-Mo in Bristol. We’re always on the look-out for the next!
I have been co-host of the PPN Bristol Property Networking Event since 2018, along with Paul Bennett. We met on the Progressive VIP mentorship programme and share mutual interests and aspirations to build our portfolios and companies further, both together and separately. PPN Bristol is something we both wanted to do in order to share our experience and enthusiasm and in order to help others to develop their property investment careers. I have really enjoyed networking and meeting people over the past three years since deciding on the full-time property path, and I’ve met some lifelong friends and great contacts along the way. I am looking forward to connecting with even more friends at Bristol PPN and to sharing the journey with you.
